Packing for Ecuador

We will hate to leave you stranded on your own figuring our what to bring to a trip in Ecuador. For those of you who have never ventured to a South American destination the following tips might be the norm through the southern part of our continent and will specially become handy in Ecuador. Important!

Ecuador uses 110 volt, 60 cycle electricity, same as the US. Plugs are typically the 2 pronged flat type so US travelers will not typically need a converter or adapter.

What to Pack

*You will be more relaxed and comfortable without flashy jewelry. Silver jewelry is fine however you might be tempted to shop from the local artisanal creations. Keep valuables like this home.

Rain Forest

Galápagos

There is no need to bring high heels or dressy clothes or accessories as this will be more of a burden than a convenience.

Airline Allowed weight depending on Destination

Domestic airlines in Ecuador (i.e, to the Galapagos or Coca) allow only one checked suitcase no more than 20 kg (44 lbs) and one carry-on bsungag per passenger.  Galapagos inter-island flights are limited to 10 kg (25 lbs), and overweight luggage will have to be transferred by boat.
